[Review] Innisfree No-Sebum Mineral Powder Mentos Edition

Mentos has been my #1 go-to sweet to pack in my carry-on whenever I go overseas. It’s there for me when I’m feeling nauseous, anxious, when I have low blood sugar, and of course to help relieve the air pressure in my ears when take-off and landing. 😂

So when I was browsing on Hermo one day and saw the Innisfree No-Sebum Mineral Powder in its special Mentos edition to celebrate Innisfree’s 14th anniversary of its mineral powder collection, it swayed my heart and sparked joy in me.

There are 6 different scents: grape, lemon, mint, peach, melon, cherry. (I only purchased 5 though)

I was really hesitant about purchasing it because 1) I don’t use cosmetics/skincare, and 2) I try to be as zero waste as possible. After reading the ways that this no-sebum mineral powder could be used though, I really wanted to give it a shot!

It can be used as a blotting powder, makeup fixer, mascara/nail/eye primer, lip mattifier, and also as a dry shampoo, deodorant, and body powder. The minute I saw that it could be used as dry shampoo, I added it to my cart as I’ve always wanted to try dry shampoo. 😂

The Innisfree No-Sebum Mineral Powder works by controlling the level of sebum in our skin, absorbing excess sebum so that skin appears smooth and radiant, and maintains the ideal water-oil balance of our skin. The same idea applies for our scalp as well – too much sebum creates excess oil which causes our scalp to feel oily and greasy.

My skin leans towards the dry side, especially on my forehead at the space between my eyebrows. However, my nosebridge and chin feels oily at times too, especially my nose (thanks, glasses).

The mineral powder comes with a powder puff and tiny holes for the powder to be released for easy application and less wastage. The powder is white so the puff won’t get stained 😊

I saved the 🍇 grape for myself (my favourite Mentos flavour) and the others are for my friends. I can’t stop smelling it whenever I open the container 💜 The scent is light but not too strong in a manufactured way, and it smells soooooo much like the grape Mentos!! (It looks and smells so good that the packaging has DO NOT EAT all over haha)

As a dry shampoo, I dabbed the puff into the powder and applied it onto my scalp/hairline, combing it through my hair evenly to spread out the powder. Because it was my first time using it, I only applied it on my hairline (most greasy part) and left the other parts unpowdered and unwashed. It worked for me as my hairline doesn’t feel so ‘clogged’ or greasy compared to the rest of my scalp! 😍

Not to mention that Hermo were also so kind to include lots of Innisfree free gifts with my purchase 🙂

My verdict of Innisfree’s No-Sebum Mineral Powder is that it really does work well to reduce my skin’s overall oiliness, especially when I’m outside and constantly exposed to changing temperatures. I think it’s a great value for money product too, considering you can use it 9 different ways for just the price of one 😀
